INTRODUCTION
The College of Design- Graduate
School of Applied Arts &Design was founded in 2000 to cultivate
advanced designers and to enhance the quality of design for both
governmental industry and private business so as to meet the
national standard of complete economical development. The
College of Design- Graduate School of Applied Arts &Design now
consists of the Department of Interior Design, the Department of
Visual Communication Design, the Department of Fashion Design
and the Department of Product Design. It integrates the
different features of these departments of design., and it is
the only existing research institute of design among technical
colleges in southern Taiwan. Following the directions of
above-mentioned four departments to cultivate advanced designers
and researchers is the main purpose.¡C

CHARACTERISTICS
As
an integrated research institute for incorporating designs, the
college includes the design of daily products, the design of
environmental space facilities, communication design, and shape
design.

design, science, technology, art and human culture to cultivate
specialized people with ability of independent thinking and
integrated analysis..
„P The college is taking active steps to train and develop highly
qualified designers required by modern enterprises in order to
enhance their international competitiveness.

CURRICULUM
Courses of
this college focus on the planning of integrated design.
„P Professional theoretical courses: Theory and application of
colors, theory of design cognition, theory of design analysis,
theory of human-factor engineering, design theory and evaluation,
etc..
„P Courses of human care: Sociology and design, theory of design
culture, visual art, etc..
„P Courses of specialized techniques: Advanced design, special topics
of culture and creativity business, quality design method, etc..
The integration of these courses from different fields
will provide students with greater understanding for future
research.

FACULTY
In addition to employing
experienced teachers of product design, the college also engages
teachers with specialized techniques to contribute their
expertise to the technical courses concerned to cultivate
advanced and specialized designers with equal ability on both
theory and practice.

Efforts are made to coordinate the
requirements of specialized courses, and to plan complete
teaching, practical work, and research rooms for special topics,
specialized labs, and the necessary space for specialized
